The Pentagon unveiled its new policy on Friday that bans the confederate flag, without actually naming it.
“The flags we fly must accord with the military imperatives of good order and discipline, treating all our people with dignity and respect, and rejecting divisive symbols,” Esper wrote in the memo. The guidance applies to the public displays of flags by service members or DoD civilians “in all DoD work places, common access areas, and public areas.”
“What has always united us remains clear — our common mission, our oath to support and defend the Constitution, and our American flag,”
In other simpler words, no Confederate flag. The military has also previously stated the removal of confederate names from 10 Army bases.
I never really understood why anyone would want to fly the confederate flag, Its literally the flag of an enemy the U.S defeated.
